Title: AKG C414 tl-ii

I have 4 akg c414 here... 3 b-uls and 1 tl-II...
I'm thinking to mod some of these mics.
Reading about C414 TL and TL-II, is correct to say that the only difference between these models is the capsule? tl-ii have ck12 nylon that tries recreate presence bump of the classic ck12 brass ring?
if i change tl-ii capsule with ck12 nylon b-uls, will have a c414 TL (the first version)?
second question... use tim campbells ck12 clone in tl-ii, i'll have great improvement?

Sorry, it's just "C414 TL"... don't have 1... but is the first transformerless c414 version.

That model does not ring a bell. Please post the exact AKG model designation.

The 414 TL was released a few years after the B-ULS model as a marketing tool to capitolize on the then fad of rejecting audio transformers.

It is an identical mic to the B-ULS model with one exception: the output transformer was removed and replaced with a 330 uf/50v capacitor. Any B-ULS model can be converted to a TL model with a couple of caps and a 47 ohm resistor.

The TL-2 model was released later using the 'c-12' style capsule with it's 10k hz rise, the B-ULS capsule is flat in comparison. The one variation they didn't make was a 414 with the transformer and a TL2 capsule. Any takers?

Use a 47.5 ohm resistor and a pair of 270~330 uf/50 v caps. Afterwards you will need to retrim the power rails, re-set the voltage at the oscillator to 62 volts, + - .5 volt.
