Title: Old Ferrograph Series 6 preamp
Post by: SideFields on March 11, 2016, 04:35:14 PM
Hi everyone,

I got a pair of old Ferrogpraph preamps taken out of a Series 6 tape machine. I know there's a guy in the UK that brings them to life but it's a bit above my budget. So I was wondering if anyone here has ever done a similar thing with such machines? Mine don't have the transformers nor the PSU. I could manage to find the right trannies but I need to know what power would this thing need in order power up. Also - is it worth the hustle? I heard some mixed reviews about them. Do they distort really quickly?

I was looking for somebody to fix mine for a long time. If somebody really can do it, please let me know. I would be really gratefull.
