Hi, I just bought a used (1989)Tektronix 2335 2 channel (XY) scope. I bought this mainly to adjust the azimuth on my Studer A80 24 track with a new MRL test tone tape. Never using a scope before, I was assuming that I would simply hook up track 2 to X and track 23 to Y and see a phase pattern to adjust to. What I see are 2 sine wave patterns. After reading alot of info on line I've discovered that some people are suggesting that you need a scope that will allow you to disable the automatic sweep function so you can monitor phase, not a sine wave. I'm not sure that is possible with this particular scope. Also some are saying to adjust to white noise (which is also on my test tape)not a 1K and then 10K tone. Any thoughts? Thanks |
