Price range, maybe, but not part number: K47fet capsule = 053223.

Unlike the K49fet capsule, I have not seen a K47fet capsule without sputtering on the rear. But corners are cut every day everywhere....

I guess they are sonically the same as the K47-fet or K49 when used in cardio mode ?
EDIT : found on this very forum, that Neumann confirmed this to Klaus.

Brad Blackwood was featured on Tony Mantzís recent Mastering Music Mastering Life podcast; they shined a light on the origins of this group.

I hope that it inspires others to join, participate, and mine this forum for great knowledge.

... but it must include a healthy discount for this forum's mainstays! Otherwise it would be just shameless free advertising!

Hey there,

If you are still looking for a way to make this mount work again - I have a PERFECT solution.

I got a custom nylon shoulder washer made, mated it with a pair of stainless steel washers and the results are smooth, long term stable and totally dependable.

I had to meet a minimum for the shoulder washer order so I have plenty for everyone.

Im thinking of offering sets for sale to people who want to keep these fantastic mounts in service.

send me a PM thru the site if you are interested - I can provide photos.

thanks!
Timothy

Yes.
But keep in mind what I try to emphasize any time we talk about tubes for microphones, even the very best:
Test each tube individually in the mic the tube is intended for and leave it on for at least 48hrs straight-

Hi Klaus,
Wanted to know if these look like the Amperex tubes you talk about?

Update:
Both amplifiers work perfectly with "capsule A".
The problem follows "Capsule B" with either amplifier.

The capsules are seemingly impossible to remove from the housing/body itself.  But at least I can rule out the amplifiers now.  (Should have done that as first step.)

The surface of Capsule A diaphragm actually looks much more contaminated than capsule B, so I don't think it's that...

Any other thoughts about this?
Thanks,
John

Hi Klaus, this could explain the model K49fet (#514753): Sennheiser told me about 2 years ago that it was in the same price range as the K47fet.

Lately sellers on eBay, Reverb, and other sites, sell "Neumann K47" that are actually cardioid-only TLM49 capsules with only one usable side (the rear diaphragm serves just as mechanical damping, but is not sputtered with conductive gold).

Sellers can offer these "K47"- named capsules for considerably less than a genuine K47 and still make a nice profit. What is particularly frustrating: when confronted, sellers will (rightfully?) refer to Neumann's web site, where the capsule is indeed claimed to be the "Same capsule design as the legendary U 47 and M 49".

Again: these capsules can NOT be used in multi-pattern mics like U47, U48, and M149. When in doubt, get a picture of both sides! (Picture of TLM49 capsule's rear side attached.)
