Title: PreSonus FIREPOD and FireWire issues.
Post by: Aaron The Man on January 09, 2006, 07:33:55 PM
Hello.

It has come to my attention that I need a rack mount with XLR inputs or jacks. With the FIREPOD it offers 4 phantoms at once and 8 multi tracks plus the SP/DIF and MIDI syncing.

The only problem is the connectivity is FireWire. What I would like to know is that running on a AMD Athlon Board (can't remember the MOBO model :/) without a FireWire port, would buying a PCI card with Firewire Ports be sufficient for this product for multitracking 4-8 tracks without any latency issues/problems?

Just need a deeper insight from users. Thanks for the help
