I'm just guessing here but I would imagine electronically that in the specific situation of using seperate AD for a multitrack live recording there would be the possiblility for slight..maybe even not so slight delay between tracks which might mess with spacial cues in what your doing..

using different types of AD than DA might not be as much of a problem..

I will leave it to more edumacated persons in this area to clear it up..because I'm not an expert on this stuff..
