Reputable Used Gear Dealers And Hire ("Rental") Outfits?
« on: August 24, 2005, 04:02:21 pm »

I'd like people to share their experiences, good and bad, with companies that specialise in "renting" or hiring equipment or that sell "used" kit.

I'm only posting this because I see on another thread that one fellow is having some serious difficulties with one used gear dealer. Seems the Used Kit Dealer has keep the man's substantial funds and not delivered the gear on a timely basis.  And the hire/rental people can create similar problems, so knowing who the good people are can be rather helpful.

I've had good luck with Advanced Audio in Burbank-- a really good friend of mine was working there at the time, but the other dudes I've met seem cool too. Anyway, I rented an A/D that didin't work out and they waived all fees on that piece of gear.

Also, had a good mic rental experience with Stephen Jarvis here in SF.

Cool. If people can, perhaps they can also post links or phone numbers and addresses.
That would be helpful.
