Resistor question
« on: May 02, 2005, 03:27:00 PM »

I am in the process of doing an oil change & new spark plugs on an old Trident Fleximix,
I have a manual but some schematics are lacking like for the Master output module,
In an IC placement mishap 2 resistors got kinda burned, still seem to work tho', but I would like to replace,

Judging at their location it must be some final stage before the mix amps / near the faders (there are 2 for L&R with this desk)..

They have a Red stripe to one side w Brown / Red / Brown stripes - I used some online value calculator which said 2.1k (??)

Measuring them @ 200ohm with the multimeter gives a reading of 120 for both..(is that 1.2k?)

I have a <spare> master module - in the same position it has 2 big fat green resistors that say W21 / 62R / 5%
I assume these were added later / eg not factory regulation as the module also has some Rubycon caps in it, obviously added later.
They (resistors in question) read 63 at 200 ohm

No schematics..

Think I am ok to go with 1.2k assuming this is the factory spec?

Thnx !

Brown-red-brown is 120 Ohms.  1.2K would be 1200 Ohms, or brown-red-red.

If the sequence goes brown-red-brown-red, it would be a 2% tolerance part (final red = 2%).
