input
via FireWire? IMHO that is a blatant omission as the machine now stands.

Not sure about firewire. The option cards I was refering to were for the yamaha PM5D. They provide 48 channels of direct outs that connect right to the x48. It really is a perfect sidecar recorder for the PM5D and so small it sits on top of the powersupply rack.
