can you say if the w75k was designed to be run at the input or the output of the v72?
Because of the large inductors, i personally imagine at the output, but I am not knowledgeable about the subject.

If you talk about the historic low cut unit for the M49, it was used, M49/75/72.... The later unit was used M49/75a/72....
