The A to D convertors don't suck. The mic preamps are not stellar sounding - typical IC based, cheaper preamps similar to what is found in mixers.
The DSP stuff is passable - certainly not up to today's UAD standards, but useful in a swiss army knife kind of way.
I used to use this extensively when I started my studio, as it covers a lot of bases decently. Once I got a few really nice preamps, compressors and eq's it was relegated to a device I use on the end of my digital chain as an anolog insert to an Avalon 747 I use for final compression and eq.
