Hello! I'm a new member of this forum but have been a long time lurker/reader. Much respect, Klaus! I'm reaching out for helpful comments on this u87 capsule. I'm purchasing the u87 (early 80's - 40k serial #) from a friend and trying to sort out if it's an original k87, or if it's a replacement. It seems to be in great shape for it's age so I started to question it as the original. Respectfully,

Looks like an authentic K87, likely a 1993 replacement model.
(The 1983 model had lots of yellowish/clear lacquer on the diaphragm rings, around the mounting screws.)

Looks really like an authentic capsule... screws, ring, writings, yellow wire.

Hi, what year is the following capsule pictured? It does not have a date number written on it or other markings I see often on Neumann capsules but does look similar to a K87 capsule but not sure what it is exactly. Is it an authentic Neumann capsule based on the picture? Has it been rediaphramed? Do you think it will sound nice?

Unfortunately this is the only picture I have of this capsule. Does the design reference a certain year from Neumann?

Looks to me like a genuine K47/49 from the 1970s or 1980s which was cleaned, and its original writing rubbed off.
