500 series De-esser
« on: April 28, 2016, 01:51:03 PM »

Has anyone had experience with the new (to me) dbx 500 series de-esser? Any comments compared to the original 900 series stuff? My guess is very few of you guys have tried it since you're probably using the legacy unit.

Also any thoughts on the EL de-esser? I need to come up with something soon.

The empirical Labs Derresser is off the charts AWESOME!!!  Its MILES beyond any other de-esser I've used in any format, but especially the 500 Series format.

Peace

If you've spent most of your life with a few thousand dollars worth of musicians in the studio, making a decision every second and a half... and you and  they are going to have to live with it for the rest of your lives, you'll get pretty arrogant too.  It takes a certain amount of balls to do that... something around three"

Thanks for the feedback. I just bought it. I got the dbx too since it was cheap enough.
