oil caps
« on: September 09, 2004, 07:11:37 PM »

i'm working on an amp right now that has a bunch of caps labelled 'oil.' throught some web searching, i find that paper in oil caps are highly sought after for their sound in audio gear, but because of that are very expensive. what i can't find is whether or not they go bad. i know electrolytics are prone to drying out, but should i expect to have to replace these? the amp is a teisco 78r from the sixites.

thanks,
alex
