My Tascam 8516b needs new relays on the cards. If there's anyone who's been there & done that before any inf. on finding new relays would be of great help.... Thanks.

If you can find Eddie Cilletti [I'd try Facebook] he may very well know the answer to your question.

Best of luck with the search!

Peace

Thanks Dom, Fletch.... I'm downloading the schematics manual now so I have some idea of what I need. I should be able to remove the old relays and solder the new ones.

IIRC those are DPDT 16 pin mount 12 volt relays, common and available from most places. I recommend mounting 16 pin machine sockets for future replacement.

Sorry for the novice posts guys.... They look like they're the relays I need. I could solder them in, I just don't know which relays are the correct replacement. The repair quote I got was $25 per relay. Two relays per card multiplied by 16 cards is $800 I don't have right now....

At Mouser or Digi key those sell for about $3 each.

Measure twice, cut once.

The quote was $25 each for the part plus repair, having someone else soldering in the new relays.... Is the ebay listing the relays I need??

The g2v-2 relays aren't sealed so feeling I had nothing to lose I popped them open and sprayed them with contact cleaner.... Good as new.
