It's a small milestone, but important to me. I'm about to hit (on Nov. 08) 8 months of no smoking.

I quit a year ago tomorrow.

That is most excellent news!
Did Terry's thread have anything to do with your quitting?
Congratulations and I hope it lasts a lifetime.

I found Terry's thread as a sticky just as I started  to quit.
I usually skip past the sticky threads but I did start reading and posting some milestones. My wife quit at about the same time as I did but she still smokes an occasional cigarette which I avoid like the plague cause that was always my downfall in previous attempts.Beer, guitar, and cigs, MMmmm.
I quit drinkin for about a month too which was a tip a buddy gave me cause that was another downfall.

I may smoke another one if I'm ever facing a firing squad.

Hey fellas! Long time no speak on this thread. I was the first quitter of this bunch. I had one lapse. The story is I went to Vegas in May for a wedding with my wife, first time in Vegas actually. What a party...

Let me tell you what nobody wants you to know. What happens in Vegas DOES NOT STAY IN VEGAS. It follows you all the way home my friends. Man it took some serious pain to get back on track.

I sometimes wonder why we have to learn the same lesson over and over. You can't just have one smoke and think it's no big deal. But somehow you keep tricking yourself. Try not to forget that lesson when it really counts.
