Stupid hats
« on: December 17, 2008, 04:09:18 PM »

Okay.

So I was watching the new nominee for Secretary Of The Interior being announced, and introduced, by President Elect Obama.

And the guy is dressed in a little string tie with a big cowboy hat on.

Now I had as much fun at 6 yr old birthday parties dressing like a cowboy as anyone.

But on an adult this just LOOKS STUPID.
Period.

If he was from the mining industry would he wear a helmet with a light to the ceremony?

What about a kilt on the Scottish descent nominees?

a Dashiki?

ridiculous

Laughing

I take it you've never lived in Texas!  Pretty common down south at fancy functions like that.

But on that guy, yeah, it looks stoopid.

BTW...I never got around to mentioning it, but I loved that CD you left me with!

Hey!

I WAS wondering.

I'm REALLY proud of that record (which we made in a total of about 9 days for I think about $5000!)

but I'm glad you liked it.
We're now shopping as hard as we can for the right 'home' for it.

Greil Marcus apparently has named it as one of his 10 best things of 2008, or some such thing,  and I hear he never actually mentions RECORDS in that context, so it's really flattering.

Even in Texas. I always call it the "you MUST be joking hat"

I think i should start painting myself blue for important social events in honour of my British heritage.

You do know that, historically, when the celts painted themselves blue they were naked, right?

May or may not go over well at social events.

While I agree, I invite you to live in Tennessee.
