Maybe, but it's perpetuating Avril Lasagne's career (well, all except BD).

Yes, I totally agree, but remember ProTool and similar technology that made autotune and beat detective possible also allow small bands, on a very limited budget, to put out a competitive product.  Bands that actually might have something musical new to say.

Miss Lasagne's has a career because of a musically un-educated public that can be infuence by big budget record label promotions.

If new bands have something musically new, they can do it without Beat Detective or Auto Tune, otherwise they are contributing to the status quo. JMO
