A great way to kick off the new forum would be with an IMP

Last I heard, a recording studio is a space where music is performed while making it easy to record the performance.
It isn’t a mix room, an editing room, a computer or a pile of recording gear.

Melvin,

IMP stands for "Indie Mixing Project", and was a regular staple of J Hall's forum at the old location. For more info about it, check here http://recforums.prosoundweb.com/index.php/t/14857/988/

And yes, timboz, I agree that this would be a good way to kick off the new forum. So the question is, has this new forum fixed PSW's hosting issues?

with the new forum, new IMP FTP server space is being setup.  porting the forums is first priority, and debugging of course.

there will be an IMP starting up ASAP.

Hey guys - administrator boy here... like J. said... its going to be a bit of time until all the other infrastructure stuff is taken care of but getting IMP FTP space is very high up on the "things to do" list.  It should be live within a couple of weeks!!

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions on stuff you'd like to see added to these forums please feel free to PM me at any time and you have my word that whatever you have will be addressed as quickly as possible.

Peace.

Hey guys, I know it's not ideal, but I'd be happy to host IMP on my server in the mean time if that works for everyone - i already host the WUMPs down in the mastering forum...

my band just got done recording an EP.. I'd be fine with lending one of the songs to IMP as soon as we get it transferred from 2" to digital.  If you're in to that sorta thing.  Probably be a week or two before it gets transferred.

yeah.  count me in.  2" transfer could be fun.  slightly different approach when the tracks are already compressed a little bit.
