Seems to me that offing him in exile would have been a lot more efficient and cheaper too. But not as profitable of course.

Someone asked me a while ago if I really thought that people in this administration would be willing to kill 3000 Americans in the US. My reply was that if they were willing to kill more than 3000 in  Iraq, plus hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, why not? Here we have some "evidence" in the form of a report that suggests that a massive invasion could have been avoided. So this begs the question, why not? The CIA killed Allende and Diem - why not Hussein? Why not pay him to leave amd go after him then? Doesn't $1 bil seem cheap? Talk about government funds and use of taxes...
