man, i'm not totally sure who "authorized" the album vocals of his record to be distributed.....i've heard various stories, most relate back to Jay-Z wanting to do it.

but seriously, i love the idea, and some cool stuff has come of it

hell, maybe he's watching all this happen, listening to all of it, looking for a new producer.

Having your record mashed together with Jay-Z's lyrics is the new black.

one thing that's different about this which is cool is that it's not so much a mash up, where it's just tempo matching and overlaying, but stv slv totally chopped up and rearranged the source material.  it;s more how the beatles are sampled in "eggman" by the beasties than how the grey album is.   in that respect, i think slv deserves a lot of credit for it, it's totaly recognizable if you know the new black album, but all of the sections are taken totally out of context, so it's more sampled rather than mashed. by the way, we had no idea slv was doing this, he just sent us the link and was like, welcome home. it was a pretty nice suprise.

Crazy!  I loved the Tape Op EP.  I need to get the full length.  I'll probably skip the J-Z one though...

Are you going to New Orleans?

I haven't seen The Black-and-Blue Album mentioned yet...
