Double duty
« on: December 14, 2006, 10:05:43 PM »

Hi Dave,

I am purchasing a couple pieces of gear but have a question about my selections.

I am looking to purchase a Pendulum OCL-2 and a Crane Song 'Ibis'

I will use them for tracking but was wondering if these unit will be good for mastering.

I record acoustic/electric jazz and some chamber quartets.

Any recommendations on doing double duty with this gear?

I am presently using MP-2NV, Dav 8, Grace, API and Precision 8

They're both good pieces, no reason they won't work for mastering. However, many companies offer "mastering" versions with stepped switches for gain, freq select, etc. Makes recalls much easier. If recall will be an issue, you may want to look for mastering versions.
