Roxio JAM mono/stereo problem
« on: December 10, 2005, 01:58:38 PM »

When I create a stereo mix track in ProTools as WAV or AIFF files and import the split stereo files (.L and.R) into JAM to create a reference CD, it only recognizes the .L file and plays back the mix in mono.  When using SDII files in a similar manner the track plays correctly as a stereo file.

According to the JAM manual, split stereo files should play back as stereo regardless of whether they are SDII, WAV or AIFF as long as the two files are named the same and are followed by .L and .R.

I'm using Mac OS 10.3.7 on a G4 with PT MixPlus 6.4.1.  Anyone else experience this problem?

The problem could be that OSX hides the file extensions by default.
You could be trying to import: SongX.L.aif
Try taking out the .aif and just leave the .L

You can change to view all file extension in:

click desktop -> finder preferences menu -> advanced tab->
(select) "show all file extensions.

hope this works ..

cheers
