sony don't play that
« on: November 13, 2005, 11:27:21 AM »

Well I am tempted in the interests of retribution to strip Sony's digital bullshit off of these CDs and make sure the digitally pure versions accidently get lost and fall into the wrong hands.  It would be quite easy to do, just take an old CD player with digital streaming out of an spdif rca jack and stick it into a converter.  Make a virgin high quality copy that used a machine too stupid to read the fancy file.

Note to Sony:  Hey you greedy butt-mongers. You cannot protect your so-called "intellectual property" at the risk of those who want to buy it.  Try appealing to human's sense of honor, or, if that fails, try lowering the price to the point where only an idiot would risk the bullshit of peer to peer trojan ware to save money.  Its a new ballgame, dipshits.  Wake up and smell the reduced profits.

Now get outta here before I really let ya have it and make you cry. Twisted Evil

I'm just a little curious... what the fuck are you talking about?

How does it apply to the making of a record?

I know you are busy, oh esteemed moderator, but it turns out that Sony has been in the news jacking with their customers by copy protecting CDs with an exploitable scheme.  Move it to Saloon if ya like, you don't need my permission.

Sony's code has now been turned into a Trojan Horse. Personally I think sony should be held accountable for their code and any damage caused by it right along side those responsible for turning it into a virus. This is a major bullshit stunt and they need to pay the price for it. When are these morons going to get the fact that they are losing money because of inferior product propogated by lame copy cat talent hunting tactics. Let us not for get that a big portion of the money machine has been reselling old albums in CD format, not new acts. I suspect if they looked at new artist sales year over year this have been the case for at least a decade. Time for a format change to prop up incompetent management I guess.

I will not buy another Sony CD, ever, unless they remove this software, and apologize to the record buying public.

I mean it.

Yes. This is disgusting. It Made national news today. MSNBC is doing a piece on it. I'm getting ready to leave the house and happened to see a teaser for the "Sony" story.

Perhaps this kind of press will help them "rethink" this Idea of theirs.

The best thing about this screw-up from Sony is that they are going to get sued and lose a shitload of sales, nonetheless at Christmas time, and I didn;t even dislike them that much until this happened.  Gosh, could they be more miserable of screw-ups?  Normally I don't find humor in the suffering of others, but when it is intelligent grown men that are trying to screw with honest people by hijacking their computers and put their customers' info at legitimate risk, and they will only lose profits (and jobs, hopefully), then the squirmfest is humorous to me.  Greed gets rammed in the ass.  I'll buy that for a dollar.
